Dr. Teddy Totimeh is an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon based at the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Accra. His subspecialty is Paediatric Neurosurgery and he has been practicing medicine for almost over 20 years.
Dr. Totimeh began his medical education at the University of Ghana Medical School where he graduated in 2003 with a MBChB. He then began his training in Paediatric Surgery, first as a Medical Officer in Battor Catholic Hospital and then as a Resident at the Department of Neurosurgery at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. In 2009 he passed the exams for membership of the West African College of Surgeons and in 2012 he earned a postgraduate degree (MPhil) in in Human Anatomy from the University of Ghana Medical School. In 2022 Dr. Totimeh completed a Certificate in Paediatric Neurosurgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (Scotland, UK).
In 2011 Dr. Totimeh moved to Israel to complete a 2-year Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Centre. This was followed up by a visiting Fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the Bethany Kids Kijabe Hospital in Kenya in 2013 and a second visiting Fellowship in 2014 in Neuroanatomy at the Brain Tumor Centre, St. John’s Hospital, California, USA.
In 2013 Dr. Totimeh returned to Ghana where he took up the position of Senior Specialist Neurosurgeon, Department of Surgery, Korle Bu Teaching
Hospital in Accra. From 2018-19 he moved to Liverpool (UK) to the Alderhey Children’s Hospital as Clinical Fellow in the Department of Paediatric Neurosurgery. In 2019 he returned to Ghana and has held a series of positions including; Senior Specialist Neurosurgeon at Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (Accra) and Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Bank Hospital (Accra).
