Dr Vimalathithan is a highly qualified Surgical Oncologist working in Chennai, India. He is experienced in treating a wide range of cancers from head & neck, breast, gastrointestinal and gynecological cancers. Dr Vimalathithan’s subspecialty interest however is in Gynecological Malignancies and management of Peritoneal Surface Malignancies with vast experience on Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC therapy.
Dr Vimalathithan completed his MBBS from Thanjavur Medical College in 2005, MS – General Medicine from Govt. Stanley Medical College, Chennai in 2009 and went on to super-specialize in Surgical Oncology (Mch) – from the prestigious Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore in 2014. Dr Vimalathithan gained overseas experience in Edinburgh, Scotland where he became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and completed his Clinical Observership in Surgical Oncology at the Nebraska Cancer Institute in the United States.
Dr Vimalathithan has over 14 years experience and has worked at some of the best hospitals in India including Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Gleneagles Global Hospital, Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Apollo Cancer Center at Teynampet and also at Apollo speciality Hospital, Chennai.
Dr Vimalathithan has also worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of General Surgery in Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology in SRM Medical College, Chennai.
