Introduction

Dr. Shachar is an experienced plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and is a renowned expert in the field of breast reconstruction.

Education & Training

Dr. Shachar began his medical education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem School of Medicine where he graduated a BMSc in 2003 and MD in 2007. This was followed by an internship at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem where he specialized in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Following his military service as a doctor, Dr. Schachar took up a residency in 2013 in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at the Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem. In 2017 he became Chief Resident and in 2019 he passed his Israeli board specialty with the highest distinction.

Experience

From 2019 Dr. Shachar took up a post as a Senior Plastic Surgeon at Haim Kaplan Clinic in Tel Aviv working under the renowned Dr. Haim Kaplan, one of Israel’s leading plastic surgeons. During this time Dr. Shachar specialized in breast reconstruction and aesthetic body and face surgery. In 2021 Dr. Shachar left Israel for the University of Ghent (Belgium) where he took up a clinical fellowship in breast reconstruction and microsurgery under the mentorship of Professor Blondeel and subsequently Professor Tonnard and Professor Verpaele in advanced facial and body aesthetic surgery.

In 2022 he returned to Israel and assumed the post of Senior Physician at the Unit of Breast Reconstructive Surgery at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem where he also teaches medical students and residents.
